Ensemble MidtVest (Denmark) has the following vacancy to fill

Audition in Herning, Denmark on Sunday, November 29th, 2009
1st round
W. A. Mozart Concerto for horn and orchestra no. 4 K. 495, first movement with cadenza
2nd round
R. Schumann Adagio and Allegro for horn and piano op. 70
3rd round
J. Brahms Horn Trio op. 40, third movement (Adagio)
C. Nielsen Wind Quintet op. 43, third movement including Prelude
Both pieces are to be played with musicians from the ensemble.
The first round is to be played behind a screen. A piano accompanist will be provided. After the second round, the participants chosen for the final round will be invited to a 10 to 15-minutes interview. The ensemble does not pay for travel
expenses, accommodation, catering etc.
Ensemble MidtVest is a classical chamber music ensemble consisting of a string quartet, a wind quintet and a pianist, based in Herning in Western Denmark. It is one of five region-based ensembles, supported mainly by the public authorities. In September 2009 the ensemble moved its base to Heart (Herning Museum of Contemporary Art) which houses the ensemble’s own chamber music concert hall. The ensemble’s repertoire spans from renaissance and baroque to contemporary music. A major part of the ensemble’s artistic activities consists of developing new projects between different musical genres. Salary starting from AUD$ 66 834 (inclusive of superannuation and base allowances).

Audition date: Monday and Tuesday 19 and 20 October 2009 in Hobart.

Audition Requirements:
• 1st movement of Mozart horn concerto No. 2
• Plus 1st and 2nd movement of Strauss horn concerto No. 1
• Plus orchestral excerpts, available from Monday 21 September 2009.

Set repertoire must be performed with piano accompaniment. Applicants must plan to be available for both whole days. Applications are open to international applicants.

Terms and conditions of employment:
Salary (gross, in Macao currency, MOP)
a. Regular musicians: MOP$21,352.00 per month; Regular musicians with doubling: MOP$22,475.00 per month; Section principals: MOP$26,971.00 per month;
b. All full time orchestra musicians are entitled to a MOP$2,000.00 monthly housing subsidy;
c. The salary includes one month paid vacation, to be taken in August;
d. In addition to the monthly salary, a holiday bonus equivalent to one month’s salary is paid (pro rata);
e. Any fulltime musicians who have continually worked in the Macao Orchestra for two years will receive a monthly increment of MOP$500.00 (five hundred Patacas) from the third year onwards. Then, each two year, there will be a monthly increment of MOP$500. The upper limit of this increment will be MOP$2,500.
